NRL 2026 – The 8th National Robotics League Sets a New Record!

The National Robotics League (NRL) 2026, now in its 8th edition, was successfully held from 29 – 31 May 2026 at Paradigm Mall, Johor Bahru. This year's event expanded from two days to three action-packed days and introduced 3 brand-new competition categories, giving participants an even wider platform to learn, compete and connect.

The competition achieved a record-breaking 850 registrations, drawing over 600 participants from 10 states across Malaysia, as well as teams from Thailand and Brunei — nearly triple the participation seen when NRL first began in 2019. This year's line-up spanned 8 competition categories and 23 competition groups, giving participants of all ages and skill levels a division to call their own.

🎉 The opening ceremony was officiated by Dato' Mohamad Fazli, Chairman of the Johor State Housing and Local Government Committee, who highlighted the growing importance of nurturing tech talent as Johor advances toward becoming an “AI State.”

🏆 Winners in selected categories will earn the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the international finals in Seoul, Korea on 29 November 2026, competing alongside talents from around the world.

💡 With 350++ trophies up for grabs and cash prizes and rewards worth over RM35,000, NRL 2026 raised the bar once again for educational robotics competitions in Malaysia.

NRL Organising Committee Chairman Shawn Yap (叶兆腾) shared that the league was built to be more than a competition – it's a platform for young people to engage with technology and build future-ready skills in logical thinking, problem-solving and innovation.

NRL continues to inspire the next generation of innovators — empowering students not just to build robots, but to build futures.
